One of James Earl Jones’ most iconic voiceover roles was Mufasa in 1994′s “The Lion King”, and in the CG-animated version in 2019.  As you know, he sadly passed away in September.

But he’ll be honored in the upcoming CGI prequel, “Mufasa: The Lion King”.  At the beginning of the film, his “Look at the stars” speech from the 1994 version will play over a black screen.

That’s the one where Mufasa tells young Simba, quote, “Whenever you feel alone, just remember . . . those kings will always be there to guide you, and so will I.”

After it will be a message that reads, “In remembrance of James Earl Jones.”

Jones did not record any new material for this prequel.  Young Mufasa is voiced by Aaron Pierre from “Rebel Ridge”.

“Mufasa: The Lion King” hits theaters next Friday, the 20th.
